The in-between time

Well graduation has come and gone. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I kinda enjoy were I am right now, with the ability to relax and just know that I have made it this far. For the last five years, as I have been an undergraduate...that had yet to be accepted into school, the thought that I should be studying always nagged my conscience regardless of how enjoyably or importantly I spent my time. Now, I can enjoy a little bit of in-between time and know that there is nothing at all that I can do right now that would really make a difference in my academic standing...nothing to make me more competitive...nothing to improve my grades...because all the work I have already done has been sufficient...for now.

I had plans to really take advantage of this time and make good use of it. I'd read a couple of books (including Les Miserables), pick up extra shifts at work, and do all those things that I didn't have time to do before. However, I really don't wanna do anything like that. I'm sick of reading. All I do is read. Read, read, read, read, read, read. I just wanna watch movies...relax...and do nothing. Ever see the movie Office Space? If I had a million dollars...'I would do nothing. I would just relax, and sit around all day. I would do nothing'...I really know what this guy was talking about...so that is what I'm gonna do. Nothing. And since this is very likely the last time in my life when I'm not extremely busy (at least when my body and mind are still completely intact and not craping myself in a nursing home) I'm gonna enjoy every minute of it.

With all that said....

Elisa and I have noticed that our little baby is not very little any more. He's very independent now and if you ask me, sometimes he gives us a glimpse of what I would expect the Anti-Christ to act like. He has the ability to be mean, and I really hate disciplining him (not that any form of discipline works anyway). I have heard that it will get worse...and I can hardly wait. Honestly, though, he's a good kid and it is fun to watch him grow and learn. I'm sure he'll grow into something great...if we all survive the next few years that is.

As for now...summertime, and the living's easy!

  1. You deserve to sit around and veg! Your wife and Josh deserve to just getta hang out with you too! Just remember this lil piece of advise on your lil one (seeings how I have been through 3 lil guys) #1 even though it is tough and hard and sad to discipline them it is FOR THEIR OWN GOOD!! You will be glad you did and Josh will be a happier kid for it. #2 you will ALWAYS wonder what you could have- should have - done different as a parent. And my last piece of advise... Eat ice cream for breakfast! In the end who cares? :0)

  2. Don't we all get a little pay back in our own kids? Aidan's in this mood that sometimes I think he's going to send me to a crazy home! Enjoy your relaxing time!
